DNS checklist

  1. Register the domain with Waymark.
  2. Copy the cname_target from the response.
  3. Create a CNAME record for the registered hostname.
  4. Remove conflicting CNAME records.
  5. Check CAA records if certificate verification does not progress.
  6. Poll the domain status until it is active.
Use the cname_target returned by the API as the authoritative DNS value.

Status values

Normal statuses are: If a domain remains pending for more than ten minutes, inspect message and verification_errors in the domain response.

Routing behavior

  • Flow requests preserve the request path, query string, headers, and body.
  • Canopy requests preserve the request path and query string for the site.
  • Public ClearLake requests serve objects below the bucket’s public path.
  • Private ClearLake requests return HTTP 501; use a standard ClearLake download URL instead.
  • An unregistered hostname returns HTTP 404.
